Each week of the UX Portfolio Sprint has a specific theme to help you stay focused

Week 1: Write Your Content & Case Studies

Monday – Friday

In the first week, you will write the content for 1 (or more) case studies for your portfolio. By writing before you design, you’ll save time and avoid costly re-work in high-fidelity design.

Using our case study writing template, you’ll have prompts to help you write detailed and compelling case studies that cover exactly what recruiters and hiring managers want to hear

Week 2: Design & Layout Your Portfolio Presentation

Mon, Apr 1 – Fri, Apr 5

In the second week, you will design and layout the slides of your portfolio using our portfolio template, or creating it in the tool of your choice, with our template as essentially a blueprint to follow.

Our presentation design tutorials will help ensure each slide is easy to skim and ready for busy recruiters, hiring managers, etc. You’ll also be able to use this structure for ANY presentation you make in the future, not just a portfolio!

Week 3: Polish Your Portfolio & Lightning Critiques

Mon, Apr 8 – Fri, Apr 12

In our last week, we will have a live session where our team will live critique slides from UX portfolio presentations created during the sprint.

Please note, these are not in-depth critiques of every slide of a portfolio presentation.

We’ll curate examples from sprint participants to highlight what was done well and what could be improved so everyone can learn and identify ways to improve your UX portfolio and mistakes to avoid.

Sarah Doody, Founder & CEO of Career Strategy Lab

When will this UX portfolio course run again?

We don’t know and are running this portfolio sprint in response to demand and a need in the market.

How is this different from the 3-month Career Strategy Lab?

Career Strategy Lab covers far more than creating a portfolio and is a 3-month program versus 3-weeks. Learn more about what’s included here.

How many projects do I need to have?

This sprint is structured so you can write and layout 1 (one) case study. If you have more time or work faster, you may be able to write and layout more than one case study for your portfolio.

Is this program just for beginners?

This is for UX and Product Development professionals at any stage in their career. People with 20+ years of experience in UX have used this framework.

No matter what stage you’re at, a portfolio can help you stand out. The difference will be in the types of projects you include. Someone more senior may have more leadership skills or business analysis skills than someone who has 1 year of experience.

Will this cover resumes or the job search?

This sprint is only focused on creating a UX portfolio.

Will I make a UX portfolio website or presentation?

In this sprint, we will only focus on a portfolio presentation (eg. Keynote, PPT, PDF) The materials will not cover how to make a website portfolio.

If you plan to make a website portfolio, you’re more than welcome to enroll however we won’t be able to provide support in the making a website.

What is your refund policy?

Due to the digital nature of the course and the fact that it contains instantly downloadable templates, workshops and more, we do not offer any refunds for any reason.

How long will I have access to the materials?

You will have access to the courses and templates until May 3, 2024. No extensions will be given. This is for your own benefit – when you have a deadline, you’re more likely to take action.

Does this sprint guarantee I'll get interviews or a job?

Truth be told, no one can guarantee you’ll get hired unless they’re signing your job offer. This UX portfolio sprint program does not come with any guarantees.

Will Sarah Doody personally review my portfolio?

This is a group program and though there will be opportunities for lightning critiques in the 3rd week, it’s not guaranteed that your portfolio will be critiqued.

At checkout, you’ll have the option to add 2 portfolio critiques that will be done by Sarah or one of the coaches she has trained.

Will I receive 1:1 career coaching in this sprint?

This is a group program and you won’t receive 1:1 calls or coaching via email.
